DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Embry-Riddle women's tennis team had three individuals ranked among the nation's top 25 women's tennis players according to the ITA/NAIA national poll, released by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association on Thursday. In the singles poll, junior
Hui-I Huang is ranked 13th, while sophomore Anna Gotz is 25th. Huang and sophomore
Paula Ortiz Couder are ranked third in the doubles poll.
Huang, who closed out her sophomore campaign at the No. 15 spot in the rating, was the runner-up at the ITA/Florida regional tournament. Gotz posted a 3-2 singles record in the fall, with one loss coming at the hands of eighth-ranked regional singles champion Adelaide Wood of Northwood.
Huang and Ortiz Couder combined for an 8-2 ledger in doubles play. The duo captured the 2014 ITA regional title and finished third at the ITA/NAIA National Championships.
The Eagle trio will look to help ERAU defend its 2014 Sun Conference regular season and tournament titles and make a return trip to the NAIA National Tournament as Embry-Riddle wraps up its final season as a member of the NAIA.
