CLEMSON, S.C. – The Embry-Riddle men's track & field team concluded its road trip to Clemson University for the Bob Pollock Invitational on Saturday evening.
The Eagles put forth a solid effort on day two of competition, but had a number of near misses for NAIA qualifying standards.
Senior
Zachary Kraus led the Blue and Gold effort in the mile but he just missed out on a "B" standard finishing in 4:22.85 in 12th place. Also on the track,
Paul McKenna placed in second in the 3000m with a time of 9:02.18.
In the multi events, sophomore
Michael Campobasso finished his first heptathlon in eighth place with 3,856 points.
The distance medley relay team of
Alec Hernandez,
Joe DiGregorio,
Jamin Mays and McKenna finished in second place in 10:26.86. While the distance medley relay team of Kraus,
Jonathan Hemingway,
Palmer Lintz and
Andrew Carpenter finished close behind in third place with a time of 10:36.38.
The Eagles will next travel to Birmingham, Ala. for the Samford Multi and Invitational Indoor meet on Feb. 7-8.
