JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Embry-Riddle women's track and field team had a successful showing at the UNF Twilight meet on Friday evening as the team posted two national qualifying standards and had several athletes set personal records.
All of the Eagles' success on Friday came from freshmen.
Kristen Metcalfe started things off by posting an "A" standard in the 400m, the seventh national qualifying standard she has hit this outdoor season, as she was the top NAIA finisher in the race with a time of 56.31.
Daisha Brown hit the second standard of the night for ERAU, as she posted a "B" standard in the triple jump with a leap of 11.45m.
The Blue and Gold had two runners post career best times in the middle distance and distance races.
Alexandria Meneses set her personal record in the 800m with a time of 2:30.06, while
Alex Orr did the same in the 5000m as she crossed the finish line in 18:45.47.
In the throwing events, freshman Cristina Isenard posted personal records in the hammer and discus throws with marks of 28.48m and 29.62m, respectively.
Next up for ERAU is The Sun Conference Championships, which the Eagles will host at the ERAU Track and Field Complex next weekend, April 18-19. The Blue and Gold is looking to win its seventh consecutive conference championship.
