Hui-I Huang and sophomore
Anna Gotz were both named to the NAIA Women's Tennis All-America team, which was released on Monday. Huang garnered first team honors, while Götz was named to the second team.
Monday's honor marked the third appearance on the All-America first team for Huang, a native on Changhua, Taiwan. She capped her junior campaign with a 14-12 overall singles record and was tabbed as The Sun Conference Player of the Year and a first team All-Conference selection. Her accomplishments in the classroom also afforded the 17th-ranked Huang Academic All-Conference, CoSIDA Academic All-District and NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors.
Gotz (Garsten, Austria) was also named to the All-Conference first team. The two-time All-American finished at 12-6 playing at the No. 2 spot in the Eagles' singles lineup. She was also named to the Academic All-Conference and CoSIDA Academic All-District teams.
Huang and Gotz also teamed up for doubles and were honored as The Sun Conference Doubles team of the Year after posting a perfect 6-0 record in league play. The duo ranked third in the ITA/NAIA national doubles poll and closed out the year at 15-4 overall.
Sophomore
Paula Ortiz Couder received honorable mention recognition in Monday's announcement. She moved up to the No. 3 singles position and turned in a 9-10 overall ledger. Ortiz Couder partnered with Huang in the fall to win the ITA regional crown and in the spring, Ortiz Couder and
Kathryn Bock posted a 13-6 record at No. 2 doubles.
