Eagles Hit Seven National Qualifying Standards To Close Out Regular Season At UNF

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The eighth-ranked Embry-Riddle women's track and field had a very impressive showing on Friday as the team concluded its regular season at the UNF East Region Preview.  Friday's meet marked the last chance for members of the ERAU squad to qualify for the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships, and the Eagles took full advantage of that opportunity by hitting seven national qualifying standards.

Halle Green-Anderson hit the first standard of the meet for ERAU as the junior posted an "A" standard in the 100m hurdles with a personal best time of 14.30.

Green-Anderson then helped the Eagles' 4x100m relay team of herself, Alana Bell, Daisha Brown, and Shonte Miller improve upon the "B" standard they had hit earlier this season by posting an automatic qualifying time of 47.41.

A handful of other Eagles hit individual qualifying standards. Ellie Staker and Kristen Metcalfe both hit "A" standards as Staker easily won the 800m with a time of 2:05.92, while Metcalfe finished fourth overall in the 400m with a time of 55.72.  Marina LeVine also competed in the 800m, hitting a "B" standard in the event with a personal best time of 2:14.59.  Martina Tafoya hit the last individual qualifying standard for the Blue and Gold as she posted a "B" standard in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:04.06.

The Eagles' final standard of the meet came in the last running event, the 4x400m relay.  Staker, Metcalfe, LeVine, and Tafoya hit an automatic qualifying standard and set a new school record in the event as they posted a time of 3:46.83.

Freshman Stephanie Mueller also set a new school record on Friday as she broke her own program record in the pole vault, clearing the bar at a height of 3.45m

A few other Eagles set personal records at UNF: Christina Isenard in the hammer throw (32.31m), Rebecca Love in the 800m (2:21.56), and Eliza Gazda in the 5000m (20:18.13).

The Blue and Gold will now focus its efforts of the NAIA Outdoor National Championships, which will take place in Gulf Shores, Ala. from May 21-23.  The NAIA's official announcement of the national championship qualifiers will be released this upcoming Monday, May 11.
