BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Embry-Riddle women's track & field team competed in its second meet of the 2016 indoor season on Sunday, the KMS Invitational. Seven different Eagles set new personal records during the course of the meet.
Caitlyn Joslin posted a 10.29m mark in the weight throw, setting a new personal best in the event. Later in the day, Joslin set another personal record with a 10.80m toss of the shot put.
Samantha Morton broke her personal high mark in the pole vault with a height of 3.05m while Daisha Brown recorded a personal-best mark of 10.90m in the triple jump.
Alex Orr (5:18.72) and Janina Helwig (5:36.88) each set new personal records in the mile. Helwig also set a personal best in the 800m with a 10th-place finish in 2:26.27 while Orr placed seventh in the 3000m with a personal best time of 10:34.07.
Also in the 800m, Alex Meneses set a personal record with a 2:29.54 and Marina Levine was the top collegiate finisher, second overall, with a time of 2:16.45.
In the 3000m, Josie Gray finished just seven places behind Orr in a personal-best time of 11:00.81.
The Eagles are off next weekend before returning to Birmingham for the Samford Invitational Feb. 12-13.
