TAMPA, Fla. - The Embry-Riddle women's track and field team completed its first meet of the 2016 outdoor season on Saturday, the USF Invitational. A number of personal records fell during the course of the event.
In the sprints, Camaria Cannon set new personal bests in the 100m (12.54) as well as the 200m (25.05). Breona Butts finished third in the 100m with a time of 12.11 and was seventh in the 200m in 25.05; both times set new collegiate bests for her.
In the 100m hurdles, Halle Green-Anderson took third place with a time of 14.67 while Evanna Ramirez set a new PR with a 16.67.
Marina LeVine finished nearly seven seconds clear of the field in the 800m, winning the race in 2:16.21.
Sarah Edens placed second in the 1500m with a personal-record time of 4:53.31. Edens also finished fourth in the 3000m, clocking in at 10:51.98.
The Eagles will be back in action next week when they travel to Conway, South Carolina to take part in the Shamrock Invitational hosted by Coastal Carolina. The meet is schedule for March 17-19.
