CORAL GABLES, Fla. - The Embry-Riddle women's track and field team competed at the Miami Hurricane Alumni Invitational on Saturday. A number of Eagles posted personal records and season bests throughout the competition, highlighted by Christina Isenard breaking her own school record in the shot put.
Isenard earned a seventh-place finish in the shot put, posting a mark of 12.84m, which broke her own school record in the event. Also in the field events, Paige Bussard set a new personal record in the discus with a distance of 37.79m and Kortney Gray finished fifth in the long jump with a personal-best mark of 5.59m.
In the track events, Alexandria Meneses set a new personal best with a time of 2:24.08 in the 800m. Marina LeVine finished fifth in the same event with a time of 2:16.40.
Martina Tafoya posted a season-best time of 1:03.20 in the 400m hurdles and Alana Bell ran her fastest 200m time of the season, a 26.15.
The relay teams also posted season-best times, with the group of Kandice Dixon, Kortney Gray, Bell and Camaria Cannon running a 47.41 in the 4x100m. In the 4x400m relay, Tamara Chambers, Dixon, Tafoya and LeVine clocked in a time of 3:57.96.
The Blue and Gold will wrap up the 2016 season next Saturday, April 16, when they host the Florida Division II Collegiate Invitational
