AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Embry-Riddle women's rowing team competed in the Head of the South regatta on Saturday. A win in the freshman novice 4+ highlighted the day's results.
The Eagles' freshman novice 4+ boat, which featured
Casey McMahon,
Caleigh Bocrie,
Gwendolyn Powell,
Alexandra Popielarz and
Bethany Thompson, finished in 19:45.7, over a full minute ahead of the second-place boat from Florida Institute of Technology.
ERAU had a pair of boats compete in the 4+ championships. One boat, featuring Margaret Piscano,
Kaya Treder,
Jodie Harmon,
Julianna Snider and
Madeline Casper, finished seventh out of 10 boats (20:19.0). The other boat of McMahon, Bocrie,
Rachel Hemsworth,
Alyssa Crystal,
Becca McBride, finished eighth with a time of 20:21.3.
The Eagles 8+ boat, consisting of
Kathryn Chilelli,
Athena Padgiotis, Powell, Treder,
Lauren Stollenwerk, Thompson, Popielarz,
Melinda Fix and Tracy Loeffler, ended the day with a ninth-place finish (18:55.4).

Today's regatta marked the last competition for the rowing team until the spring.
