WINTER PARK, Fla. - Rollins hosted the Embry-Riddle women's rowing team on Wednesday at Lake Maitland for the TARS Regatta. The Eagles won three of the four races against the host Tars.

In the only race that Rollins won, the Tars finished the Varsity Eight in 6:59.9, just six seconds faster than ERAU's 7:05.9 (Kathryn Chilelli, Lauren Stollenwerk, Jordan Pfile, Megan Swam, Diana Perera, Athena Padgiotis, Grace McBride, Rachel Hemsworth, Kaya Treder). The Eagles took a victory in the Varsity Four (Margaret Pisacano, Alina Gagliola, Julianna Snider, Melinda Fix, Alyssa Crystal), recording a time of 7:56.7, 14 seconds in front of Rollins.

The non-DII Varsity Four race saw the Eagles (Chilelli, Stollenwerk, Perera, Padgiotis, Treder) beat a pair of Rollins boats in 7:30.1, narrowly bearing the Tars' first finisher in 7:36.1, and nearly a minute faster than Rollins' second boat that posted a time of 8:20.8.

Embry-Riddle wrapped things up with a victory in the Novice Four (Pisacano, Gagliola, Snider, Hemsworth, Becca McBride) race, finishing in 8:10.6 while the Tars went 8:19.3.

"I'm very proud of the effort the team put in today," ERAU Director of Rowing Jamie Francis said. "We still have a lot of work to do as we head into April and our state championships and I'm excited to see where the next few weeks of training leads us. I really appreciate the families of the team who came out to support us on this 'cold' Florida morning."

Embry-Riddle will next compete at the FIRA Championship Regatta in Sarasota on April 6-7.
