DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Three members of the Embry-Riddle women's track and field and cross country teams have been named to the Google Cloud Academic All-District Team, selected by CoSIDA. The teams are chosen by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) and honor those student-athletes who have shown success in athletics and in the classroom.
Alana Bell,
Sarah Edens, and
Marina LeVine were all selected to the Academic All-District Team, making ERAU one of just three schools in District 5 to have more than one selection among the 10 student-athletes chosen from the Gulf South, Southern Intercollegiate and Sunshine State Conferences.
Bell, a senior from Ocoee, graduated with a 3.87 GPA in Business Administration. She ran a personal-best time of 1:01.56 in the outdoor 400m at the Peach Belt Conference Championships and was part of the 4x400m relay team that won the event at the PBC Championships, helping the Eagles to earn the conference crown in their first season as a member.
Edens, a junior from Gainesville, has a 3.81 GPA in Civil Engineering. She recorded three PR's this season, including a 2:24.50 in the indoor 800m, a 5:09.49 in the indoor mile, and a 10:15.88 in the outdoor 3000m. Edens also had one of the top 75 times in the outdoor 5000m with a time of 17:23.18.
LeVine, a graduate student from Indian Rocks Beach, currently carries a 3.60 GPA in the Master of Business Administration program. She finished 17th at the Sunshine State Conference Cross Country Championship with a time of 24:13.0 and was a part of the 4x400m relay team that won the event at the PBC Championships.
Bell, Edens, and LeVine will now advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America Team ballot, with honorees announced in June.
