Warren, Farner Receive PBC Weekly Honors

AUGUSTA, Ga. - On Tuesday afternoon, the Peach Belt Conference announced its Track and Field Athletes of the Week, and Embry-Riddle's Calahan Warren and Zachery Farner earned the awards for Men's Track and Men's Field Athletes of the Week, respectively. This marks the first-ever PBC weekly awards given to an Embry-Riddle male student-athlete.

Two weeks after winning the 1500m at the Peach Belt Championships, Warren was at it again with a victory in the same event at the Seminole Twilight. The junior from Auburndale shaved 18 seconds off his PBC time with a run of 3:47.33 at the Seminole. That sets a new PBC record for all meets and sets an NCAA provisional time. It is also the 14th-fastest 1500m run in NCAA Division II this season.

The 2018 PBC Men's Field Athlete of the Year, Farner built on the momentum from the conference championship to set an NCAA provisional distance in the hammer at the Seminole Twilight. The senior from Mulino, Ore., set a new PBC record for all meets with a toss of 55.34m, finishing second at the event. That was more than a meter further than his winning throw at the PBC championship and is the 44th-longest throw in Division II this year.
