Men’s Track & Field Opens Season at BSC Indoor Icebreaker

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Embry-Riddle men's track and field team opened its 2021 indoor season at the BSC Panther Indoor Icebreaker hosted by Birmingham Southern on Friday. The day's competition yielded seven personal best marks for the Blue and Gold.
 
In the Mile, Josh Collins shaved nearly six seconds off his previous personal record, crossing the line in 4:22.17.
 
Competing in the 60m hurdles, Heinrich Adriaanse posted a personal best time of 8.68 in the semifinal round.
 
Bradon Black also had a PR of 49.77 in the 400m, while Micah Blair ran the fastest 3000m of his career of 8:54.19 and Jacob D'Aleo matched his PR of 1:55.30 in the 800m.
 
The field events saw Adam El-Kadi with his career-best leap of 1.85m in the high jump and Jake Lyons equaled his career-best throw of 10.89m (35-8.75) in the shot put.
 
The Eagles will have a long layoff before their next meet, which will be on Jan. 21 when they travel to Columbia, South Carolina for the Carolina Challenge.
