Join us every Wednesday on erauathletics.com as we take a moment to remember and recognize each of our conference & national championships.

The 2010 men's tennis team took home its eighth straight conference regular season title after going undefeated in conference play for the eighth consecutive season. The Blue and Gold also captured its sixth straight conference/regional tournament title that year.

The Eagles opened the season with three straight wins before suffering a 7-2 defeat to NCAA II Barry. After another three-match winning streak, ERAU dropped back-to-back contests to move to 6-3 on the season. The Blue and Gold then rattled off nine consecutive victories, including three road conference wins to close the conference slate at a perfect 5-0, before dropping two of the final three matches of the season to NCAA II Lynn and NCAA I Central Florida.

Embry-Riddle was barely tested in The Sun Conference Tournament, sweeping SCAD and downing St. Thomas 5-1 to earn another conference tournament title.

The Blue and Gold received a bid to the NAIA National Championship where they picked up a 5-1 win over Union (Ky.) and a 5-3 victory over Concordia (Calif.) before bowing out to eventual national runner-up Fresno Pacific in the semifinals.

Following the season, Jan Hoekzema and Peter Francis were both named ITA/NAIA All-Americans and NAIA First Team All-Americans, while Charlie Rice and Istvan Bolgar earned NAIA Second Team All-America honors. Hoekzema, Bolgar, and Francis were all named First Team All-Sun Conference, while Rice and Luke Maricic claimed spots on the All-Conference second team. Hoekzema was also named The Sun Conference Player of the Year.

Check back next week when we look back at the 2006 women's cross country season.
