MELBOURNE, Florida - Led by the Sunshine State Conference Runner of the Year
Paul Kraemer, the Embry-Riddle men's cross country team put five runners on the All-SSC roster, while
Ariana Anderson represented the women's cross country team on the All-SSC listing. The top seven finishers at the Sunshine State Conference Championships are named first team All-SSC runners, while finishers No. 8-14 earn second team All-Conference accolades.
Kraemer was voted as the league's Runner of the Year and was recognized at the championship meet last Saturday. He finished second in the race to claim first team honors for the third straight season, becoming the 12th Eagle to earn three first team All-Conference honors.
Joining Kraemer on the first team were
Brendon Shea,
Ryan Szklany and
Tanner Rosolino who went 3-4-5 on Saturday. Shea bumped up from a second team appearance last season, and Rosolino made his first All-Conference listing in his career. As for Szklany, he becomes the first Eagle in program history to claim five All-Conference honors. Szklany was a second team All-Conference runner as a true freshman before reeling off four straight first team All-Conference finishes in his next four years. He is the fifth Eagle ever to claim four first team All-Conference awards.
Earning second team honors for the men was freshman
Andrew Stowe with a 10th-place finish. He was also named the top freshman individual at Saturday's race.
On the women's side,
Ariana Anderson placed 12th overall at the SSC meet to earn second team honors. It marks her fifth All-Conference accolade after claiming four All-Conference honors from the Cal Pac while running at Embry-Riddle (Ariz.).
