Adams, Beckwith, Willingham Earn PBC Weekly Honors

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – For the second week in a row, the Embry-Riddle track and field teams had three individuals named to the Peach Belt Conference Weekly Honor Roll. Michael Willinghman and Ta'Leah Adams garnered men's and women's Field Athlete of the Week honors, respectively, while Ukeyvia Beckwith was named the women's Track Athlete of the Week. All three individuals competed at the two-day UCF Knights Invite in Orlando last weekend.

Willingham led the Eagles in the throwing events at UCF recording three top-five finishes. He placed third in the hammer with a personal-best 51.78m toss. He also had a PR of 52.95 in the javelin to finish seventh and posted season-bests of 14.21m in the shot put (5th) and 48.01m in the discus (4th) to close out the competition. He ranks first in the PBC in the discus, hammer and shot put, and is second in the javelin.

Adams earned a pair of top-seven finishes in an NCAA I laden field. She began the competition with a personal-best throw of 39.57m in the discus, which currently ranks third in the PBC to place seventh in that event. The next day, Adams finished as the top non-NCAA I thrower in the hammer with a throw of 56.56m to hit the NCAA II provisional qualifying mark for the second meet in a row.

In her first outdoor competition of the season, Beckwith raced to a fourth-place finish in the 800m in 2:12.18. That time is the fastest in the PBC by six seconds this season and is 11th in NCAA II. Tuesday's recognition is the third PBC weekly honor of Beckwith's career.
