Womens Rowing Has Great Day at Tars Regatta

WINTER PARK, Florida - The Embry-Riddle women opened up their 2022 spring schedule on Saturday morning at the Tars Regatta, hosted by Rollins, and came away with four victories in six races.

The Varsity 8 boat was less than four seconds behind Barry, taking second place in the race with a 6:47.9, a full 24 seconds in front of third-place Rollins. The boat, coxswained by Megan Byrne, consisted of Helen Carey, Kendra Sander, Shelby Ernst, Helena Schmidt, Bethany Thompson, Gwendolyn Powell, Elise Dezotell, and Veronika Zdrazil.

ERAU took home first in the second Varsity 8 (Lauren Enders, Alexandria Fife-Winslow, Rylan Randolph, Alexandra Weilert, Caterina Hart, Danielle DelGrippo, Tracey Loeffler, Madison Hardiman, and Kristen Vigna) in a time of 7:22.4.

ERAU's Varsity Four (Enders, Fife-Winslow, Vigna, Alexandra Weilert, and Hart) won their race, while the non-NCAA II Varsity 4 (Byrne, Ernst, Sander, Thompson, Schmidt)  placed second behind Barry in 7:55.3. The Blue and Gold V4+ (Enders, Carey, Powell, Dezotell, and Zdrazil) also took home the gold, beating both Barry and Rollins, posting a time of 8:14.7,

In the Novice 4 race, the Eagles (Courtney Louderback, Fife-Winslow, DelGrippo, Angela Cebula, Hardiman) edged Rollins by one second, taking the crown in 9:40.1.

ERAU will take on Stetson, Sacred Heart, and Jacksonville next Friday, March 11 in DeLand.
