PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Two medals and a program-record time at the Dad Vail Regatta on Saturday added to the already successful 2021-22 season for Embry-Riddle women's rowing. Both Eagle boats, Varsity 4 and 8, brought home hardware as Varsity 4 finished first to win gold while Varsity 8 earned bronze. Racing was held on the Schuylkill River.

First on the water was the Varsity 4 boat of Lauren Enders (coxswain), Alexandria Fife-Winslow, Gwendolyn Powell, Kristen Vigna, and Alexandra Weilert, the same group of rowers who won at the Sunshine State Conference Championship three weeks ago in April. From start to finish, Embry-Riddle dominated as the Eagles broke the program record with a time of 7:19.911 to win by nearly 10 seconds over Florida Tech.

An hour later, Megan Byrne (coxswain), Helen Carey, Elise Dezotell, Shelby Ernst, Sofia Lorenzini, Kendra Sander, Helena Schmidt, Bethany Thompson, and Veronika Zdrazil held off No. 7 Barry and RV Florida Tech to claim third at 6:40.555 behind No. 1 Mercyhurst and No. 8 Jefferson.

Embry-Riddle now waits to see if it is selected for the NCAA II National Championship on May 27-29 at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota, Florida. The selection show is scheduled for Monday, May 16 at 5 p.m. on NCAA.com.
