CLEVELAND, Tenn. – The Embry-Riddle women's track and field team had a record-breaking end to the regular season on Saturday. The Eagles competed at two separate meets in a final opportunity to hit qualifying marks for nationals.
Competing at the UMO Multi hosted by Mount Olive,
Sierra Coward bettered the ERAU standard she set in the heptathlon earlier this season. She scored 4,769 points to finish third overall and hit a provisional standard with the 21st best score in NCAA II this season. In the process of setting the ERAU heptathlon record, she posted PRs in the 200m (25.53 seconds) and 800m (2:52.47 seconds).
At the Lee University Last Chance meet,
Ukeyvia Beckwith shaved a second off her previous personal best to place second in the 800m in 2:05.83. Her time is nearly seven seconds faster than the provisional qualifying standard and is the third fastest outdoor time in NCAA II this season.
Beckwith was also part of the record-breaking 4x400m relay squad. She teamed up with
Laura McBride,
Morgan Dudley and
Nina Richardson for an ERAU-best 3:45.84 to win that event and hit the provisional qualifying standard.
Ta'Leah Adams won the hammer with a throw of 57.93, while
Madison Morris registered a personal best 43.56m throw in the discus.
