MELBOURNE, Florida - The Embry-Riddle women's cross country team opened the 2022 season emphatically on Saturday morning at the Eastern Florida State Fall Classic, placing 10 runners in the top-20, including individual champion
Anna Miller, to claim their first team title in a meet since 2019. The Eagles' top-three runners finished more than 25 seconds in front of the next closest opponent, and the Blue and Gold enjoyed a 13-point victory over Sunshine State Conference foe Florida Southern for the team crown.

Mike Rosolino's squad showed its' depth at Wickham Park, putting all five scorers in the top-nine, and 13 runners in the top-36 of the 78-athlete race. The Eagles' 21 points were 13 in the clear of FSC's 34, with the Blue and Gold's total time of 1:35.44 more than two minutes faster than the Mocs.Â

Miller became the first Eagle since 2018 (Sarah Edens - NCAA II South Region Championship) to claim an individual title for Embry-Riddle. Miller ran an 18:43.5, her second-fastest 5K time ever, beating out new teammates
Ariana Anderson (18:50.5) and
Mackenzie Keller (18:52.1) who finished second and third, respectively.
Kelly Steffens (19:32.4 - 6th),
Caroline Harris (19:45.3 - 9th), and
Kendall Mathis (19:58.0 - 12th) were the other Eagle scorers, while
Ravyn Edge (20:09.5 - 13th) and
Maylyn Wallace (20:31.0 - 15th) acting as displacers.
