MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Embry-Riddle Men's Tennis entered two double teams in the ITA/NCAA II South Regional tournament and both pairs have advanced to the quarterfinal round of the 32-team bracket.
 
Playing in the top half of the bracket, Alexis Guedy and Michele Iftimie edged fourth-seeded Alejandro Ibanez Gallego and Arnau Rodriguez 8-7 (7-5) and bested Auburn Montgomery's Thibault Jacq and Antoine Renard 8-4 to advance to the round of eight.
 
On the other side of the bracket, Fernando Alonso and Alvaro Diaz Rodrigo began their tournament run with an 8-3 win over Spring Hill's Rafael Lima and Noe Hauschidt and followed with an 8-5 upset of No. 2 seed Lamar Bartley and Luca Mack.
 
Both ERAU pairs will be back in action on Sunday with Guedy and Iftimie taking on sixth-seeded Vincent Thiel and Ghali Mensour of Saint Leo, and Diaz Rodrigo and Alonso facing Lynn's Diego Gonzalez and Gianmarco Amatiste.
