SAINT LEO, Florida - A week after finishing fifth overall at the Embry-Riddle Cross Country Classic, the ERAU women's cross country team responded with a resounding victory at the Saint Leo Abbey Invitational, blowing away three other Sunshine State Conference opponents en route to the team title, their second of the 2022 season.
Embry-Riddle - 34 points [2-5-7-8-12 (14) (17)]
ERAU put five runners in the top 12, and eight total in the top 20 to beat Tampa (67), Saint Leo (97), Ave Maria (97) and Pasco-Hernando State (120). Florida Southern (142) rounded out the SSC participants in the 5K event. ERAU's total time of 1:38:02 was nearly four minutes better than UT's, and the Eagle spread was 1:12.20.

Mackenzie Keller had the best individual finish thus far in her collegiate career, placing second overall as the meet runner-up in a time of 18:54.13, leading the Eagle contingent.
Ariana Anderson finished in the top six for the third straight race, placing fifth overall in 19:05.27, while
Anna Miller (19:20.44) and
Kelly Steffens (19:34.89) went sixth and seventh, respectively.
Caroline Harris (20:06.32) rounded out ERAU's scorers, placing 12th, with
Alaina Rider (20:28.74) and
Abby Valley (20:40.90) acting as displacers in 14th and 17th overall.

Next Up
The Eagles will have next weekend off from competition before heading to Tallahassee for the FSU Invitational on Oct. 7.
