GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Embry-Riddle Men's Track & Field wrapped up competition at the Florida University Invitational & Multi at the Alachua County Complex on Friday. The Eagles continued their trend of improving as the season progresses as evidenced by numerous PRs in Friday's competition.
Competing in the shot put,
Aden Parsons recorded the first PR of the day to place fifth with a throw of 10.87m (35-8).
After advancing through the preliminary rounds of the 60m hurdles with a season-best time of 8.88,
Chris Abell closed out the meet by running even faster in the final, crossing in 8.73.
Craig Dedrick also advanced to the finals of the 60m dash, turning in PR of 7.00 in the preliminary rounds.
Freshman
Kalel Duncan also improved on his performances from earlier this season, posting a time of 1:56.71 in the 800m.
The 5000m saw both competitors for Embry-Riddle record personal-best times.
Tanner Rosolino was the first Eagle finisher, crossing in fourth place in 14:56.12.
Brandon Santangelo also ran the fastest 5000m race of his career, finishing in 15:36.74.
The Eagles swept the podium in the heptathlon, led by
Heinrich Adriaanse who won the event with 3,921 points.
John Bai was second with a PR of 3,043 points, while
Stephen Baird also set a personal record of 2,997 points.
The Eagles will make their last trip of the season to Gainesville on Feb. 16 for the one-day Florida University Last Chance meet.
