Harris Headlines Eagle Performances on Final Day at Florida University Invite & Multi

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – For the second week in a row, multiple personal bests highlighted the Embry-Riddle women's track and field performances in indoor competition. The Eagles saw 11 personal records fall as they wrapped up competition at the Floris University Invitational & Multi at the Alachua County Complex.
 
The highlight of the day came in the 800m where Caroline Harris hit a PR and an NCAA II provisional qualifying time of 2:14.65.
 
The day began with indoor season-bests for three individuals in the pole vault. Piper Kimes placed second with a vault of 3.25m (10-8), followed by Noel Konitzer (2.95m (9-8)) in third and Breck Johnson (2.65m (8-8.25)) in fourth.
 
In the long jump, Mikaela Miles placed sixth in the long jump with her second-best leap of the season of 5.09m (16-8.5), while Michala Daniels recorded a PR of 4.86m (15-11.5) to finish ninth.
 
Two more personal records fell in the pentathlon. Sydney Cash scored 2,429 points to win the event, while Emma Sorenson (2,176 pts) and Noel Konitzer (2,031) both recorded personal bests to place second and third, respectively.
 
The weight throw resulted in three top-five finishes for the Blue and Gold. Leading the way was Kirsten Rolle who threw the implement 0.40m further than her previous personal best to place second with a mark of 15.55m (51.0). Amberleigh Sauer also recorded a PR of 15.39m (50-6) to finish third. Madison Morris was fifth with a mark of 12.22m (40-1).
 
The Eagles' throwing trio also finished three-four-five in the shot put. Sauer led the way with a toss of 11.65 (38-2.75) followed by Rolle, who turned in her second PR of the day with a throw of 11.24m (36-10.5) and Morris who recorded a mark of 10.52m (34-6.25).
 
Competition on the track started with personal bests for Abby Valley and Alaina Rider, as well as a season-best for Ravyn Edge in the mile. Valley knocked off nearly seven seconds of the personal-best time set last week, crossing in 5:14.83, while Edge finished in 5:28.29 and Rider clocked a 5:34.68.
 
In the third attempt of her collegiate career at the open 400m, Nina Richardson also notched personal record, crossing the line fifth place in an ERAU season-best time of 58.58.
 
Competing in the 60m hurdles, Helena Hukyke ran a PR of 9.55 in the preliminary rounds to advance to the finals and bettered that time with a 9.39 in the finals to wrap up the Eagles competition at the two-day meet.
 
The Eagles will make their last trip of the season to Gainesville on Feb. 16 for the one-day Florida University Last Chance meet.
