11 Personal Records Set at Celebration Pointe Classic

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – In the Eagles' third trip to Gainesville in as many weeks, members of the Embry-Riddle women's track and field team continued to set new personal marks as they competed in the Celebration Pointe Indoor Classic. The two-day meet, which concluded on Friday, saw the Eagles combine for 11 personal records.
 
Kendall Mathis shaved nearly 12 seconds off her first collegiate attempt in the 3000m from two weeks ago. The freshman crossed the line in 11:21.93 just ahead of Hailey Montgomery (12:00.13) and Maylyn Wallace (12:03.95) who competed in the first 3000m of her collegiate career.
 
Ashtyn Hunt was fifth in the high jump, matching her career-best height of 1.50m.
 
In the pole vault, Piper Kimes posted an indoor PR of 3.25m (10-8) on her third attempt to finish second overall. Noel Konitzer matched her personal best mark of 2.95m (9-8) to place fifth.
 
Konitzer also turned in the fastest 60m hurdle time of her career, crossing in 11.53.
 
The Eagles had two top-five finishers in the weight throw. Amberleigh Sauer won the event with a mark of 14.41m (47-3), while Kirsten Rolle placed third with a throw of 14.19m (46-6). Madison Morris improved on the PR she set two weeks ago by nearly two meters with a throw of 12.92m (41-1).
 
Three Eagles bettered their respective personal best times in the 800m run. Placing fifth behind teammate Morgan Dudley who was fourth in 2:15.61, Caroline Harris knocked nearly three seconds off her previous PR, finishing in 2:16.27. Abby Valley (2:22.19) ran almost four seconds faster that her previous best, while Ravyn Edge improved her time by more than four seconds, crossing in 2:25.74.
 
Mackenzie Keller picked up a second-place finish in the mile, crossing the line in the PR of 5:05.01. Valley earned another PR in that event with a time of 5:21.02.
 
The Eagles will be back in Gainesville Feb. 9-10 for the Florida University Invitational.
