DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Wins in three individual events helped the Embry-Riddle men's track and field team claim the top spot in the team standings on the first day of the Peach Belt Conference Track & Field championships at the Embry-Riddle Track & Field Complex.

The Eagles' first medals of the day came in the javelin where the Blue and Gold took the top three spots. The favorite to win the event, Ryan Flournoy retained his conference title, winning with a PBC-meet-record throw of 62.44m (204-10). Aden Parsons was second with a throw of 54.51m and Noah Gammichia completed the podium sweep for the Eagles with a third-place throw of 53.42m

The Blue and Gold earned 20.5 points in the pole vault with four finishers in the top 10. Conrad Prisby won the conference crown with a vault of 4.65m. Colin McNally (4.35m), Alec Zaller (4.05m) and Heinrich Adriaanse (3.90m) placed fourth, fifth and seventh respectively.

Tristan McWilliam turned in a gold medal performance in the 1500m, running the fastest race of the day in 3:51.82. Jacob D'Aleo ran the fastest 1500m race of his career scoring four points for the Blue & Gold with a time of 3:56.73.

Thursday's competition also saw several Eagles move through the preliminary rounds. The Eagles will have two runners each in the 400m hurdles and 100m dash, while six individuals qualified in the 110m hurdles. Embry-Riddle also advanced five runners in a fast 200m prelim that featured personal best records for Bradon Black (21.57) and Craig Dedrick (22.02).

Competition resumes on Friday, beginning with the 5000m at 8 a.m.
