FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - A 73 during round two of the NCAA II Men's Golf South/Southeast Regional has Ian Aldarondo sitting in a tie for 12th with one round left to go. Aldarondo is looking to be one of the top two individuals not on an advancing team to lock in a spot to move on to the final site.

The senior's second trip through the par-71, 6,725-yard course at the Grande Oaks Golf Club was a bit more tumultuous. After starting Thursday with a pair of birdies, Aldarondo (67-73=140) bogeyed the first two holes on Friday. However, he settled in and went one under par over the next five holes thanks to a birdie on the par-4 sixth. A bogey on the next hole brought him up to two above par on the front nine.

Aldarondo then entered another five-hole stretch where he went one under. His birdie on hole No. 13 started an up-and-down period that saw the senior notch a birdie, double bogey, birdie, bogey, and birdie in that order before paring the eighteenth hole.

The San Juan, Puerto Rico native found much success on par-3s in the round, going one under on such holes. So far in this tournament, Aldarondo is averaging 2.88 strokes on par-3 holes, tied for the second-best mark in the field. Additionally, his six birdies are tied for the sixth most out of 108 players.

Andrew Riley (62-70=132) of Palm Beach Atlantic held on to his lead after round two. He and Carson-Newman's Luke Stock (69-68=137) and Florida Southern's Adam Alvarez (67-70=137) currently occupy the two individual spots up for grabs as the latter two are tied for the second opening.

Aldarondo's round-three tee time is scheduled for 10:50 a.m.
