PENNSAUKEN, N.J. - For the third-straight season, No. 5 Embry-Riddle women's rowing competed in the NCAA II Championship, and this time the Eagles placed fifth overall with 11 points. The second and last day of action was solely finals as Varsity 4 finished second in the Petite Final on Saturday while Varsity 8 grabbed a fourth-place result in the Grand Final. All races were held at a 2,000 meter course on the Cooper River near the Camden County Boathouse.

Alexis Mathis (coxswain), Helena Schmidt, Aria Moses, Briella Goldenberg, and Reagan Hurt raced out to an early lead over No. 7 Jefferson in the Varsity 4 Petite Final. The Blue and Gold had the fastest split at both the 500 meter and 1,000 meter marks, but the Rams slowly chipped away at ERAU's lead from that point on. With the two boats neck-and-neck with 500 meters to go, Embry-Riddle fell slightly behind and was unable to recover, finishing with a time of 8:33.663, 3.4 seconds back of Jefferson, to start the day with two points for ERAU.

No. 2 Cal Poly Humboldt downed No. 1 Central Oklahoma, No. 4 Western Washington, and No. 3 Seattle Pacific in the Grand Final.

The Varsity 8 boat crewed by Megan Byrne (coxswain), Shelby Ernst, Kendra Sander, Soleil Edwards, Sofia Lorenzini, Alexandria Fife-Winslow, Alexandra Weilert, Veronika Zdrazil, and Kristen Vigna went up against the best three boats in the division in the Grand Final. The Eagles raced down the course and finished fourth (7:30.265) to tie the program's best-ever finish in Eights at the national championship and pick up an additional nine points for the Blue and Gold.

Cal Poly Humboldt (7:15.143) completed the sweep by claiming victory over Embry-Riddle as well as Central Oklahoma (7:19.871) and Seattle Pacific (7:21.967).

The Lumberjacks won their first title since 2014.

Embry-Riddle ended the competition with 11 points, beating Jefferson by four.

Cal Poly Humboldt - 30 points
Central Oklahoma - 25 points
Seattle Pacific - 18 points
Western Washington - 14 points
Embry-Riddle - 11 points
Jefferson - 7 points

That concludes the 2022-23 season for Embry-Riddle women's rowing that saw the Eagles claim a second-straight Sunshine State Conference title and finish second at the Florida Intercollegiate Rowing Association Championships. Embry-Riddle picked up six medals throughout the season and were the SSC Varsity 8 champions. The program swept all six conference Boat of the Week awards and had Varsity 8 named the SSC Co-Boat of the Year.
