Women’s Tennis Trio Named to Academic All-District Team

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- Embry-Riddle women's tennis student-athletes Carla Cabero del Hierro, Sabrina Ehrenfort and Jessica Christa Wira Hadipoernomo garnered Academic All-District honors as announced by College Sports Communicators on Tuesday. The award recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.
 
Cabero del Hierro (Valladolid, Spain) is a sophomore in aerospace engineering with a 3.954 grade point average. She finished her second season with the Eagles with 12-10 records in singles and doubles play.
 
Ehrenfort (Berlin, Germany) closed out her Embry-Riddle career with a 15-4 mark in singles, including a team-best 6-1 record in conference play. A four-time ITA Scholar-Athlete and Sunshine State Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll selection, Ehrenfort posted perfect 4.0 GPAs in both her undergraduate and graduate degrees in Human Factors Psychology and will be pursuing her PhD in the same discipline beginning in the fall.
 
Tuesday's award was one of many honors bestowed on Wira Hadipoernomo this season. The Semarang, Indonesia native, who has a 4.0 GPA in computational mathematics, was awarded an ERAU Athletics Eagles of Excellence Scholarship as well as the Embry-Riddle College of Arts and Sciences Shrinivas Dalal Memorial Endowed Scholarship. Wira Hadipoernomo capped her second season wearing the Blue & Gold with a team-best 17-4 singles ledger and was 13-4 in tandem with Kaylee Kirivong.
 
Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced June 1.
