800m Propels Men's Track and Field to Successful Day Two at RADD College Invite

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Embry-Riddle men's track and field team wrapped up the RADD College Invite at the Alachua County Sports Complex on Saturday, a day filled with personal bests and some of the best times in Eagles history in multiple events.

Colin McHugh set the first personal record of the day, as he finished with a time of 52.02 in the 400m.

Derick Brown had a stellar performance in the 60m hurdles, running a third-place 8.13 in the preliminaries, before a first-place finish of 8.11, both being provisional standards. These times are the second and third-best in program history in the event. In addition, Aaron Strauber's time of 9.10 in the 60m hurdles set a career best. Trey Cunningham, who competed in the preliminaries which he won, owns the record for fastest time in the 60m this year.

The 800m saw two additions to the top-10 in ERAU history, as Jacob D'Aleo and Jake Fritz's times of 1:53.16 and 1:54.38 put them second and ninth in program history in the event and gave them the top two spots in the field, as Charles Hruda ran a 1:55.38 to come in fourth.

Embry-Riddle came in fifth in the 4x400m relay as K'Anthony Benjamin, William Fiesbeck, Colin McHugh and Craig Dedrick III ran the event in 3:30.71.

The 60m saw another personal best as Brandon Taylor ran a 7.52 for the best time of his career.

The Eagles will return to the Alachua County Sports Complex next week, as they will be competing in the Florida Collegiate Invitational.
