FELLSMERE, Fla. – The Embry-Riddle women's rowing team had an excellent showing on Saturday in the Florida Fall Invite at Canal 54. The Head of the Canal, hosted by Florida Tech, featured crews from the Sunshine State, including the Eagles, host Panther and SSC foes Barry, along with Jacksonville and Stetson. ERAU's Varsity 8s took home second place out of the 12-boat field, after winning the sprints portion (1000m) and placing second in the head race (4500m).

The 1Vs featured Shelby Ernst, Aria Moses, Sarah Kinlocke, Reagan Hurt, Abby Webb, Emily Retty, Soleil Edwards, Alexandria Fife-Winslow and was coxxed by Jolee Paulk. Together they rowed an excellent 3:30.8 sprint time in the 1000m, taking down the other 11 boats swiftly, more than nine seconds faster than second place Jacksonville. The Eagle boat raced the 4500m head to another impressive finish with a time of 18:39.4 for second place, behind only Jacksonville's 1V.

The Eagle 2V boat, made up of Caterina Hart, Briella Goldenberg, Elizabeth Loughry, Sabrina Graves, Gracie Thompson, Lilly Avezzano, Ella Wineriter and Laurel Grein at coxswain, nabbed a pair of top-5 finishes themselves; the 2Vs raced to a fifth place finish in the sprints (3:39.0), and fourth place in the head, just behind Jacksonville, ERAU and Stetson's 1Vs in 19:44.8.

ERAU's 3Vs raced hard for a combined 10th place finish. Lorelei Carter, Danielle DelGrippo, Julia Krutz, Lilly Mae Turgeon, Katie Braddick, Angelina Ferrandino, Abigail Smith, Alexandra Weilert and Kaitlynn Parker at coxswain finished just behind the JU 3Vs in the sprints (3:51.2) and in the head race (21:44.5) for a solid afternoon.

The Florida Fall Invite concludes the fall portion of the Eagles' schedule. With some momentum from great finishes in tough events, ERAU looks forward to a successful spring slate.
