Men’s Track and Field Sets Two New Program Records at Florida University Last Chance

GAINESVILLE, Fla. - The Embry-Riddle men's track and field team participated in the Florida University Last Chance at the Alachua County Sports Complex on Friday, seeing two new program records set.

The weight throw saw two personal records, as Chance Tressler (14.60m) and Joshua Dixon (12.39m) had career-best tosses.
 

Just one week after the record was previously set, Jake Fritz set a new program record of 1:51.00 in the 800m, meeting a provisional standard.


It was a busy start for the Eagles, as they had seven of the nine pole vault participants. The event saw a personal best for Aidan Barnes, with a 3.80m. In addition, Conrad Prisby (4.55m), Colin McNally (4.10m) and Quinn Neal (3.80m) got ERAU three top-five finishes, finishing second, fourth and fifth respectively.

Isaiah Kline set a personal record of 1.85m in the high jump.

Adam Landen once again excelled in the 200m, winning it in 21.97.

Nathan Wyant's long jump of 5.65m was the best of his career.

Kobe Diggs set a personal record of 7.22 in the 60m, while Carter Speh tied his record of 7.28.

Just one week after the record was previously set, Jake Fritz set a new program record of 1:51.00 in the 800m.

Nicholas Scarangelli (8:30.33) and Tayan Benson (8:31.96) set personal records in the 3000m, as Scarangelli came in fifth place.

The Eagles won the 4x400m relay, as the team of Derick Brown, Colin McHugh, Carter Speh and Landen ran the event in 3:19.33, fifth-best in program history.

The shot put was another big event for the Eagles, as Chance Tressler (14.06m), Matt Larsen (12.40m), Nathan Wyant (11.75m), Ryan Flournoy (11.46m) and Joseph Rigo (10.70m) all set personal bests.

Another program record was set in the triple jump, as Antonio Caito's 14.99m leap set the record and hit a provisional standard, also placing as the 18th-best mark in Division II this season.

The Eagles are also in action tomorrow up in Massachusetts, as they'll be sending a small contingent to participate in the David Hemery Valentine Invitational, hosted by Boston University.
