Women's Track and Field Competes in Bob Hayes Classic

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Embry-Riddle Women's Track and Field competed in the historic Bob Hayes Classic, hosted by the University of North Florida, seeing two of the best marks in program history set.

Dejah Saunders came in fourth place in the 110m hurdles, running it in a time of 15.53,good for a personal record.

Olivia Worrell set a career best in the 100m, running it in a time of 12.25, as did Michala Daniels (12.71). In addition to Worrell coming in second place, Ciara Thomas came in fourth (12.33).

Brooklynn Gould came in second place in the 800m with a personal-best 2:14.81, trailed by Taylor Roth who finished in third place with a time of 2:15.12, a personal outdoor record for h34

Maria Persson set a personal best in the 400m with a time of 1:00.70, finishing in fourth place.

Laura McBride came in third in the 400m hurdles, running it in a time of 1:04.28.

The 200m saw two personal bests, as Ciara Thomas and Worrell ran the event in times of 25.14 and 25.35 respectively.

Emma Sorenson's long jump mark of 5.07m placed her in third in the event.

Hailey Bruce set a personal best in the hammer with 38.97m.

Bruce and Maxi Kirschner set personal records in the javelin, with tosses of 39.93m and 43.48m (with Kirschner hitting a provisional mark) putting them both in the top two. Sophia Gustely (33.44m) and Leah Bartlett (33.01m) added to the top five, finishing fourth and fifth. Kirschner's throw is the third best in the javelin in Eagles history.

Brooklynn Gould set a personal best in the high jump with a 1.60m leap.

In the evening, Anna Miller and Taylor Roth set personal records in the 1500m, running the event in times of 4:41.86 and 4:49.90. In addition, MacKenzie Keller came in fourth in the 1500m with a time of 4:36.42

Gustely finished in top five in the discus as well, where she finished in fourth with 38.86, one place behind Madison Morris (41.41m). 

Keller had the second-best 5000m time in program history, coming in second place with a time of 17:19.88. Along with this, Miller had a personal record of 18:25.24, while Kendall Mathis set a personal outdoor record of 19:09.20.

On Saturday, the Eagles took fifth in the 4x100m relay, as Nina Richardson, Shenya Patrice, Olivia Worrell and Ciara Thomas finished the event in a time of 47.61, tied for tenth-fastest in program history.

Next up is a trip to Orlando, where the Eagles will be taking part in the Knights Invitational hosted by UCF next Friday.
