Women's Track & Field Hosts Blue and Gold Invite

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Embry-Riddle Women's Track and Field competed outdoors for the first time this season as the Eagles hosted the Embry-Riddle Blue and Gold Invite on Saturday.

MacKenzie Keller ran the 1500m in 4:41.43, capturing first place. In addition, second-placed Abby Valley (4:46.26), as well as Taylor Roth (4:52.58) and Alaina Rider (5:04.31) set personal bests.

Brooklynn Gould came in second place in the 100m hurdles, running the event in 15.01.

Maria Persson came in fourth place in the 400m, setting a career record of 1:02.01, as did Nithya Chummier with her time of 1:02.84.

Olivia Worrell won the 100m and her time of 12.41 set a new personal best. Shenya Patrice (12.53) came in fifth, and Dejah Saunders (13.71) set a career record.

Roth came in third place in the 800m with a time of 2:18.30, trailed closely by Keller who ran the event in 2:18.57. In addition Rider set a new personal record of 2:30.39.

Laura McBride won the 400m hurdles, finishing the event in a time of 1:05.12.

Patrice came in fourth place in the 200m with a time of 25.91, while Leah Bartlett set a new personal best of 26.83m

The Eagles captured first in the 4x400m, as Gould, McBride, Roth and Thomas ran the event in 4:02.49.

Kelly Steffens won the 3000m steeplechase run 11:46.47, the 10th-best time in program history.

Kirsten Rolle won the hammer, as she set a personal record 49.35m toss.
 

Madison Morris came in first place in the shot put with a 11.70m toss, while Rolle set a new personal outdoor record of 10.89.

Michala Daniels (10.60m) and Sorenson (10.34m) occupied back-to-back spots in the top five of the triple jump, placing third and fourth, respectively.

The Eagles had two top five finishes in the discus, as Morris (38.47m) and Sophia Gustely (34.90m) placed third and fifth place respectively.

ERAU had the top three finishes in the pole vault, as Piper Kim's (2.85m), Resa Akers (2.85m) Maxi Kirschner (2.55m) made up the top three, with Akers setting a new outdoor career record.

Maxi Kirschner won the javelin with a 41.62m throw, placing her in 10th place on the all-time program leaderboard in the event. Hailey Bruce (37.74m) and Leah Bartlett (36.46m) made up the rest of the top three.
