Women's Track & Field Competes in Opening Two Days of Embry-Riddle Running Elements Classic

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Embry-Riddle Women's Track and Field started their second home meet of the season as they competed in the first two of three days of Embry-Riddle Running Elements Classic at the ERAU Track & Field Complex.

Brooklynn Gould won the heptathlon with an overall score of 4,922 points, setting bests as an Eagle in the 100m hurdles (15.28), high jump (1.25), shot put (11.31m), long jump (5.57m), javelin (33.45m) and in the 800m (2:24.39).

The Eagles got two top-five finishers as Anna Miller (4:44.42) and Taylor Roth (4:47.31) finished second and fourth, respectively.

Embry-Riddle also grabbed top spot in the hammer as Kirsten Rolle's 50.94 first-place toss also set a personal record.

Mikaela Miles came in fifth in the long jump with a 5.19m leap, while Cerenity Daise set an outdoor best with a leap of 4.80m.

Piper Kimes finished second in the pole vault with 3.05m, while Resa Akers finished fourth with a throw of 2.75m.

Three Eagles finished in the top five of the javelin, as Hailey Bruce (37.75m), Sophia Gustely (36.01m) and Barrett Cutshall (33.75m) finished in first, third and fifth respectively.

Day three of the Running Elements Classic is set to begin with the discus at 9 a.m.
