TAMPA, Fla. – The Embry-Riddle women's track and field team sent a small contingent to compete in the South Florida Invitational hosted by the University of South Florida at the USF Track & Field Stadium on Saturday. The Eagles' best performances came in the throwing events, including a win and two career-best outings.
The first event of the day saw
Kirsten Rolle register a personal record in the hammer. The sophomore bettered the PR she set at last week's Running Elements Classic with a throw of 51.27m to finish seventh.
The javelin featured three top-10 finishes for the ERAU women. Maxime Kirschner won the event with a toss of 41.55m, followed by
Hailey Bruce's career-best throw of 39.88 mwhich was good for third place.
Sophia Gustely (33.46m) rounded out the Eagle finishers with a 10th-place showing.
In the 100m
Shenya Patrice ran the second-fastest race of her career and the fourth-fastest time in program history of 11.95.
The final event to reach completion saw
Madison Morris launch her best throw of the year in the discus. She finished seventh with a mark of 43.17m.
The Eagles have a two-week break before returning to action at the Embry-Riddle Eagles Invite on April 20 at the Embry-Riddle Track & Field Complex.
