Gear, Scialanga Grab Top-10 Results at Matlock Collegiate Classic

LAKELAND, Fla. - Ryan Gear and Edoardo Scialanga had strong starts to the spring season for Embry-Riddle Men's Golf. The two Eagles finished in the top 10 at the Matlock Collegiate Classic, with Gear (211) placing seventh while Scialanga (212) tied for eighth. Embry-Riddle shot 882 as a team, the program's lowest score at this tournament. The Eagles placed 10th on the leaderboard, ahead of No. 24 Valdosta State (883) and No. 39 Palm Beach Atlantic (890).

  • Over three rounds, he notched a team-leading 13 birdies, which tied for the eighth-most in the field.
  • His 3.87 (-4) average on par-4s tied for the third-best among all competitors.

  • Barni produced an eagle on the par-5, 552-yard hole No. 17.
  • He ended his third round by going one under over the last three holes.
  • The senior was six under par on par-5s.

Ian Ball (73-78-80=231) | 69th 
  • Ball's average on par-3s (3.17) tied for the eighth-lowest in the tournament.
