Men’s Track Takes Third in the Inaugural Sunshine State Conference Outdoor Track Championships

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Embry-Riddle men's track and field team secured third place in the inaugural Sunshine State Conference Outdoor Track championships, tallying 91 points. The Eagles captured five gold medals, set three ERAU all-time top 10 performances, and notched a new program record.
 
Championship performances: 
  • K'Anthony Benjamin – Benjamin delivered a standout performance, placing second in the 200m with 20.97, a new ERAU record and an NCAA Division II provisional qualifying time. He also posted the fourth-fastest time in ERAU history in the 100m prelims (10.54) and claimed third place in the final at 10.65.
  • 110 Hurdles – The Eagles dominated the podium in the 110m hurdles Colin McHugh secured third with 15.45, in second Chris Abell with 15.17 and Carter Speh took the gold with 15.17.
  • 4x100 Relay – The team of Craig Dedrick III, Adam Landen, Speh and Benjamin not only claimed gold but also broke the ERAU program record with a 40.81.

The Eagles will return to action at home during the Peach Belt Conference Outdoor Championships in Daytona Beach, Florida starting on the 28 April.
