DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Three student-athletes from Embry-Riddle's women's tennis team have earned one of the nation's top academic honors.
Carla Cabero del Hierro,
Jessica Christa Wira Hadipoernomo, and
Laura Cuesta Bret were named to the 2025 Women's Tennis Academic All-District Team by College Sports Communicators (CSC).
The CSC Academic All-District program honors student-athletes from NCAA Divisions I, II, III, and the NAIA for excellence in both athletics and academics. To qualify, athletes must have at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA and must have played in at least 90% of their team's matches during the season.
This is the third Academic All-District honor for both Wira Hadipoernomo and Cabero del Hierro. Wira Hadipoernomo played in 32 matches this season, posting a 25-6 record. She earned Second Team All-Sunshine State Conference (SSC) honors for the second time and became the program's all-time winningest singles player. She recently earned her master's degree in data science, graduating with a perfect 4.0 GPA.
Cabero del Hierro, who graduated with a bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering and a 3.97 GPA, played 33 singles and 37 doubles matches this season. She teamed up with Cuesta Bret to earn Second Team All-SSC honors in doubles. Individually, she posted a 19-14 singles record while playing between the No. 3 and No. 6 positions.
Cuesta Bret, now in her second year at ERAU, played most of the season at the No. 1 spot in both singles and doubles. She finished with 17-13 singles record and a 22-14 mark in doubles. Also, an aerospace engineering major, she holds a 4.0 GPA and joined Cabero del Hierro on the SSC All-Conference Second Team for doubles.
