Five Eagles Earn CSC Academic All-District Honors

| By:
GREENWOOD, Ind. - Embry-Riddle Softball saw five of its student-athletes receive College Sports Communicators Academic All-District recognition, as announced by the organization on Tuesday. Mallory Kinahan earned the distinction for the third-consecutive year while Shelby Morse, Raissa Bianco and Kelsey Kressler made a second appearance. It was the first occasion that Leah Oberkehr collected the honor.

To be nominated, a student-athlete must compete in 90 percent of the institution's games played or start in at least 66 percent of the institution's games. Pitchers must make at least 17 appearances or complete 35 innings of pitching. Eligible student-athletes also must possess at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average in both undergraduate and graduate work, and must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically. Institutions are limited to only five nominations.

The academic awards keep coming for Kinahan as this is her 11th academic honor of her collegiate career. Though the senior saw plenty of action from inside the circle, she also made a transition to the outfield, becoming the squad's primary starting right fielder. Kinahan made 19 appearances in the circle and 31 starts overall. She posted a .297 average with 17 runs and 15 stolen bases. Kinahan has a 3.92 cumulative GPA in communications.

Morse was Embry-Riddle's ace in its rotation this year. She ranked inside the top 10 in the SSC in multiple categories including shutouts (6, T-2nd), saves (3, T-2nd), ERA (1.51, 5th), walks issued per seven innings (1.12, 6th), and wins (12, T-8th). Over 21 starts and 27 appearances, Morse rang up 63 batters and held opposing hitters to a .239 clip at the plate with a 1.06 WHIP. The junior ended her season in peak form, having allowed just two earned runs over her last 40 innings of work. Morse is also majoring in communications and maintains a 3.96 GPA.

Bianco returns as an Academic All-District honoree after receiving Academic All-American honors last year. She was one of just three members of the Blue and Gold to play in all 47 games, also drawing 46 starts. Bianco ranked second on the team in runs (37) and stolen bases (17) and third in RBI (24). The senior is a civil engineering major with an unblemished 4.00 GPA.

Kressler held down the hot corner this season for ERAU, drawing 41 starts and 43 games played. It was one of her best seasons offensively, recording single-season career highs in runs (16) and stolen bases (9) with 14 RBI. Kressler also notched the best fielding percentage of her career (.919). She is graduating with a 3.72 GPA in computational mathematics and meteorology.

Oberkehr had a breakout season in 2025 and was one of the fastest student-athletes not just in the SSC, but in the NCAA II as well. The Ponte Vedra, Florida product ended her season with the most stolen bases per game (1.06) in the division among those with 10 or more games played. Her 50 stolen bases smashed the program record by 16 and were the seventh-most in a single season in the history of the conference. Oberkehr also produced a .335 batting average with 18 RBI and a team-leading 42 runs scored, which was the third-most in the SSC. She possesses a 3.93 GPA in civil engineering.
