Women’s Soccer Announces 2025 Slate

| By:
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla – With the 2025 season just around the corner, Embry-Riddle Women's Soccer Head Coach Liam McIlhatton revealed his program's schedule for the upcoming season on Thursday. The Eagles will eye another successful season as the program has reached the NCAA II national tournament in each of their previous five seasons of play from 2019-2024. In that stretch, Embry-Riddle has also captured two Sunshine State Conference regular season titles and four SSC Tournament crowns.

It's a road-heavy schedule as 10 of the team's 16 matches are away from home, including the first four contests of the season.

The schedule features five programs that competed at last year's NCAA II National Tournament, including SSC foes Florida Tech and Nova Southeastern alongside non-conference opposition Columbus State, West Florida and Flagler. Three of those were regular season and tournament champions of their respective conferences, such as Florida Tech (SSC), Columbus State (Peach Belt) and West Florida (Gulf South).

As mentioned, the season commences with a four-game road trip on Sept. 5 at Columbus State. The last time these two teams faced off in Columbus, Georgia it was a battle of two top-10 programs. Embry-Riddle ultimately upset the No. 3 Cougars.

The Sept. 7 matchup against West Florida will be the first regular-season meeting in the all-time series. The two sides met in the postseason in 2021 and 2022.

ERAU will then look to stay undefeated against Valdosta State (Sept. 17) as the Eagles possess a 3-0-1 all-time record versus the Blazers. The road trip concludes with the start of SSC play at Tampa on Sept. 24. Embry-Riddle is 5-1-1 in the last seven meetings.

Florida Tech travels to Daytona Beach for the Eagles' home opener on Sept. 27. Embry-Riddle has matched up well with the Panthers defensively, holding FT to just five goals in the last nine matchups.

ERAU hasn't lost to Lynn at home since 2007, and the program will look to keep that streak alive on Oct. 1 for Youth Night.

A two-game road trip is up next as the Eagles face Barry (Oct. 4) and Flagler (Oct. 8). Five of the program's last six meetings with the Buccaneers have resulted in a win.

Eckerd comes to town on Oct. 11. The Eagles have not lost to the Tritons since the turn of the century.

Since 2001, ERAU is 13-2 against Palm Beach Atlantic, indicating a favorable matchup for the Blue and Gold on Oct. 15 in West Palm Beach. The Eagles then get reacquainted with Lee (Oct. 18) in the first meeting between the two sides since 2019.

Embry-Riddle will look to extend its home winning streak versus Saint Leo to six matches on Oct. 22 before hosting Rollins (Oct. 25), a program the Eagles have downed on four consecutive occasions.

An away contest with Florida Southern (Oct. 29) is up next prior to the final regular season home match of 2025 against USC Beaufort (Nov. 1), which is the first meeting since 2014. Embry-Riddle is undefeated (4-0) against the Sand Sharks.

The regular season concludes on Nov. 5 as Embry-Riddle goes to Fort Lauderdale to face Nova Southeastern, a place where the Eagles have been victorious on the last three occasions.

The top eight teams in the SSC standings earn a spot in the conference tournament. Quarterfinals will be held on Nov. 10 followed by semifinals (Nov. 13) and the final (Nov. 16).

The winner of the SSC Tournament will receive the league's automatic bid to the NCAA II National Tournament, which has regional play scheduled for Nov. 21, 23 and 30. The 2025 NCAA II National Championship final site will be at the Switchbacks FC Stadium in Colorado Springs, Colorado from Dec. 11-13.
