DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- Kati Pearson recorded 15 kills to lead the Briar Cliff (Iowa) University women's volleyball team?to a 3-0 (30-12, 30-13, 30-11) victory against Embry-Riddle University Saturday evening.
The Eagles (3-25) were down 15-10 in the first game, when Briar Cliff (14-12) went on a 15-2 run to close out the first game?30-12.???The second game was more of the same as the Chargers outscored Embry-Riddle 10-6 to open the game, but then BCU went on a 9-3 run to build a 19-9 advantage and cruised to a 30-13 win.
The final game was all Briar Cliff jumping out to a 20-7?lead and the Eagle offense?just couldn't overcome the large lead falling 30-11.
The Briar Cliff offense was clicking on all cylinders with a team hitting percentage of .337 (42k-10e-95a), while the Eagles managed just .022 (20k-18e-91a).? Aside from Pearson, Renee Beiermann added nine kills and Kari Dierks finished with eight.
Sue Delahanty led the Eagles with 11 kills, while
Noela Tola added eight kills.
The Eagles are idle until next weekend when they travel to West Palm Beach, Fla. to face Palm Beach Atlantic on Friday Oct. 29 at 7 p.m. and Northwood on Saturday Oct. 30 at 12 p.m.
