FT. MYERS, Fla. - The No. 1 seed in The Sun Conference Tournament, sixth-ranked Embry-Riddle had never lost their opening game in three years of the six-team event. That trend ended on Tuesday morning when sixth-seeded SCAD Savannah won their first-ever postseason game against ERAU, 7-1 thanks to a powerful offensive output and the right arm of Dylan Weber-Callahan. The Eagles drop into the loser's bracket and will face the second-seeded Sand Sharks of South Carolina Beaufort in the first elimination game of the tournament at 10 a.m. on Wednesday morning. USCB lost 7-2 to the fifth seed, Warner in Tuesday's second contest. ERAU drops to 38-15 overall after losing just their second-ever game in The Sun Conference Tournament. SCAD improves to 28-28 on the year with the victory.

The Bees fell behind 1-0 in the first, but Weber-Callahan, a 2012 first team All-Conference performer, outdueled his Eagle counterpart in Daniel Eaton, who was also a first team selection, over the final eight innings. SCAD tied things up in the third before taking a 2-1 lead in the fourth, but the big blow for SCAD came in the seventh when they pushed four runs across the plate to take a commanding 6-1 lead. A solo home run from Will Cioffi in the eighth accounted for the final of 7-1.

Weber-Callahan was tremendous for the Bees, allowing just one run while scattering eight hits in his nine-inning, complete-game performance. The sophomore threw 122 pitches in the win, his sixth of the season.

Every SCAD starter collected a hit, except for Jonathan Andrews, with Jamison Sweat leading the way with a 4-for-5 performance with an RBI and run scored. Carson Parker was 3-for-5 and Cioffi went 1-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs scored.

For the Blue and Gold, Chris Page and Adam Cellini both had two hits, but the Eagles left eight men on base in the game, failing to execute when they most needed to.

Eaton was pegged with the loss, allowing five runs on 10 hits in six innings of work.
