BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Embry-Riddle men's track & field team enjoyed a solid showing at the KMS Invitational on Sunday, highlighted by
Richard Maku setting a school record in the triple jump.
Maku set the record on his second attempt, earning a mark of 14.65m to place seventh in the event.
In the shot put,
Maurice Cullum (14.09m) and
Luis Rivera (13.37m) each established new personal bests.
Kenny Shrimpton set a personal record with a time of 7.09 in the 60m and later set another personal best with a time of 22.26 in the 200m.
Joe Fuller earned a seventh-place finish in the 600m with a personal-best time of 1:22.75 and
Calahan Warren placed ninth in the mile with a personal record of 4:26.37.
The distance medley relay team of
Ryan Larson,
John Dennehy,
Emerson Tyler and
Adam Lawrence finished second in a race with three NCAA I schools, finishing with a time of 10:47.16. During the race, Lawrence ran the mile leg in a time of 4:34, which set a new personal best for him.
The Eagles are off next weekend before returning to Birmingham for the Samford Invitational Feb. 12-13.
