DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The Embry-Riddle men's track & field team took on West Virginia Wesleyan in a dual meet on Saturday, with the Bobcats coming out on top, 260.5-167.5.
Andrew Carpenter was the top finisher in the 1500m (4:13.53) while Calahan Warren came in third (4:17.45). Josh Stief took fourth place in the 100m with a time of 11.63.
The Blue and Gold dominated the 800m, taking the top five spots. Jamin Mays won the event (1:55.40), followed by Warren (1:55.80), Devontae Persha (1:57.10), James Fell (1:58.90) and Joe Fuller (1:59.10). Persha also took second place in the 200m (23.40).
Running unattached, Robert Davis won the 400m (49.98) and Joseph Bernard took second (53.58).
In the field events, Luis Rivera won the discus with a toss of 44.52m while Michael Haynes placed third with a mark of 41.98m. Steva Wijayasinha won the high jump with a height of 1.80m and Maurice Cullum took fourth in the discus (40.68m) and fifth in the shot put (13.75m).
Competing unattached, Daniel Cashdollar won the pole vault (4.25m) and Zack Farner won the hammer throw (42.84) while Brodie Lubelski placed second in the shot put (14.06m), this in the hammer throw (41.50m) and fifth in the discus (39.79m).
The Eagles will be back in action March 11-12 at the USF Invitational in Tampa.
