DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The Embry-Riddle men's track & field team hosted West Virginia Wesleyan in a dual meet on Monday at the Embry-Riddle Track Complex. The Eagles narrowly edged the Bobcats, 72.5-69.5, to earn the team victory. A number of Eagles also grabbed event wins throughout the day.
Lonnie Marts took first place in the 100m with a time of 11.01, while Chad Swindell was fifth in the race in 11.77. Marts also won the 200m in 21.84. Patrick White took third in the 400m, clocking in at 54.59. Matt Graves won the 1500m in 4:05.04 and placed fourth in the 800m with a time of 2:00.70.
The Eagles won the 4x100m relay with the team of John-Paul Dean, Marcus Pryor, Marts and Swindell clocking in a time of 44.51. Marts, White, Will Rice and Pryor also won the 4x400m relay in 3:39.72, and Noah Kemp, Andrew Carosi, Brian Cheluget and Graves teamed up to take first in the 4000m Distance Medley Relay in a time of 10:27.68.
In the field events, Daniel Cashdollar took first place in the pole vault with a mark of 4.40m, while Zachary Lietzau was third in the event at 4.10m. Swindell won the long jump with a height of 6.23m. Matt Contreras tied for third in the high jump with a distance of 1.72m.
Zach Farmer won the shot put with a mark of 14.06m and Luis Rivera was second at 13.00m. Farner also took third in the discus at 44.63m, while Brodie Lubelski was second with a mark of 49.23m. Farner earned his third top-three finish of the day with a second-place showing in the hammer at 43.70m. Carlos Guillermo also took second in the javelin with a distance of 49.53m.
The Eagles are back in action next week when they travel to Miramar for the Nova Southeastern Shark Invitational on Tuesday, March 14.
