Full Results
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – The Embry-Riddle men's rowing team participated in the Head of the Hooch regatta on Saturday, with the Lightweight 4+ boat winning its race to highlight the day's competition.

The Eagle Lightweight 4+ boat, featuring Peter Douglass, Ethan Boone, Nick Horn, Joe Gunther, and Arik Palmer, won its race in 15:42.705, finishing more than 20 seconds ahead of the second-place boat from Florida.

In the Championship 8+ race that saw ERAU finish fifth a year ago, the Blue and Gold took third place with a time of 14:11.132. The boat included Guillermo Mazzilli, Maxwell Katich, Zachary Stith, Mathew Pitchford, Weston Hall, Noah Thornburgh, Michael George, Chessie Newbold, and Alec Palmer.

The Eagles also fielded a Novice 8+ boat with Peter Ribbens, Bryce Eighmey, Jay'Quan Miller, Nicholas D'Onofrio, Miles Butler, Josh Busick, Andrew Flynn, John Veracka, and Nicholas Gianetti, which finished sixth in a field of 32 boats, clocking a time of 15:32.540.

"We're very proud of the work the team has been putting in this fall," Director of Rowing Jamie Francis said. "The Hooch is a good place to test that work against some of the fastest programs in the region. We had several top-10 finishes and a first-ever Hooch gold medal in the men's lightweight four coxed by Arik Palmer who did a great job steering the course and making the most of today's quick water conditions. With one more race this fall we're looking forward to the Head of the South as well as looking beyond to the spring season."

Next up, the Blue and Gold will travel to Augusta, Georgia on Saturday, Nov. 10, to participate in the Head of the South, which will serve as ERAU's final fall regatta.
