Full Results

SARASOTA, Fla. – The Embry-Riddle women's rowing team competed in its first-ever Sunshine State Conference Rowing Championship regatta on Friday, and the Blue and Gold finished tied for fifth with Tampa. Lauren Stollenwerk earned a spot on the All-SSC Rowing Team while Kaya Treder was named to the All-Freshman/Novice Team.

The Eagles Varsity Four boat of Margaret Pisacano, Becca McBride, Alyssa Crystal, Alina Gagliola, and Diana Perera finished sixth, clocking in a time of 8:19.75.

ERAU's Varsity Eight boat, consisting of Maddie Casper, Rachel Hemsworth, Julianna Snider, Megan Swam, Jordan Pfile, Athena Padgiotis, Katie Chilelli, Treder, and Stollenwerk earned a fourth-place finish with a time of 7:27.30. That finish earned the Blue and Gold three points, which equaled Tampa's total in a tie for fifth.

"I'm very proud of the work these women have put in and the improvements they've made over this first year as a varsity program," Director of Rowing Jamie Francis said. "We faced a few challenges over the past week that resulted in some unconventional line-ups, but in the end they pulled together as a team."

Florida Tech (18 points) edged Barry (17) for the top spot by winning the Varsity Eight race by two-tenths of a second, with Nova Southeastern finishing third with eight points and Rollins taking four points to finish fourth, one point ahead of the Eagles and Spartans.

After the races, the SSC announced its All-Freshman/Novice and All-Conference teams, with Treder earning one of the six spots on the All-Freshman/Novice Team and Stollenwerk claiming one of the nine positions on the All-Conference Team.
