BOCA RATON, Fla. - The Embry-Riddle women's cross country team began 2019 postseason competition on Saturday morning at the Sunshine State Conference Championships in Boca Raton, hosted by Lynn. The Eagles placed fourth overall in the 6K race and will now turn their attention to the NCAA South Region Meet in two weeks.
The Blue and Gold totaled 73 points, finishing behind Tampa (34), Saint Leo (45) and Florida Southern (61). ERAU's total time of 1:58.49 and average time of 23:46 were also both fourth overall.
Sarah Edens was once again the Eagles' top finisher, placing fourth individually and earning her third career first team All-SSC nod. The senior finished in 22:46.8, the 10th-fastest 6K time in program history.
Freshman
Anna Miller earned second team All-SSC honors with a 12th-place showing in 23:36.1, while
Rachel Jones (24:04.7),Â
Kara Funke (24:09.9) and
Josie Gray (24:11.4) were all packed close together in 17th, 19th and 21st, respectively.
Ukeyvia Beckwith finished in 25th (24:20.4), followed by
Maggie Allen (24:34.1) in 27th,
Alyssa Zack (24:59.7) in 33rd,
Mikaela Hakamaa (25:45.6) in 45th,
Kaitlyn Buck (27:16.5) in 60th andÂ
Morgan Dudley (29:43.9) in 75th.
Embry-Riddle will look to bounce back and defend their NCAA South Region title on Nov. 9 in Lakeland, Florida at Holloway Park.
