SALEM, Ore. - The Embry-Riddle women's cross country team headed to Salem, Oregon for the 45th Charles Bowles Invitational on Saturday, finishing fifth overall and second among non-NCAA I competitors. The Eagles got personal-best times from several runners at the 17-team meet hosted by Willamette University.
ERAU scored 130 points, totaling a time of 1:34.09, finishing behind Portland State (54), Portland (86), Humboldt State (95) and Eastern Washington (101).
Sarah Edens picked up her 20th career top-10 finish on Saturday to lead the Eagles, placing sixth overall in 18:15.2, the 12th-fastest 5K time in program history.
Following Edens was
Anna Miller in 12th, running 18:27.0, the 19th-fastest time in program history, as well as making Miller the eighth-fastest runner in school history.
Miller's fellow freshman
Alyssa Zack ran a 18:59.5, placing 35th for ERAU with
Rachel Jones (19:08.3) and Ukeyvia Bekcwith (19:18.4) rounding out the Eagle scorers.
Kara Funke (19:37.6) and
Maggie Allen (19:37.8) finished 64th and 65th, respectively, as
Josie Gray (19:39.3),
Mikaela Hakamaa (20:24.) and
Grayson Iller (21:22.1) also ran for the Blue and Gold.
The Eagles return to the Sunshine State to wrap up the 2019 regular season on Friday when they run in the FSU Invitational in Tallahassee.
